Craft and making is such a powerful tool. Already, we’ve had so many of our students and jewellers in residence embracing these circumstances and it’s been inspiring! Take a look at what our community of makers have been up to these past few weeks.

Nicola Robson, one of our daytime class students, has been working on a stained glass piece. Stunning! Jeweller in Residence, Ann Shearer, is also using 36 of her husband's old ties to make a beautiful quilt.

Tutor and Jeweller in Residence, Jessica Howarth has been exercising her creative muscles! Over the past few weeks, Jess has been making gorgeous paper flowers and some delicate myrtle stems from sheet metal and wire.

We also owe a HUGE congratulations to our one-year foundation course students and to the dedicated teaching team at SilverHub! After working tirelessly, our students have received unconditional offers from the following UK college's and universities: Glasgow College; Glasgow School of Art; Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee; the award-winning, Birmingham School of Jewellery; and Sheffield Hallam University.  We are so proud of what all of our students have achieved, and we can’t wait to celebrate their achievements soon!

Last, but by no means least, we should mention that Lisa recently chatted to Chantal Erbie on the Sister Sounds Podcast series, Lockdown, about the importance of creativity during this time. Grab yourself a cuppa and listen here.
