Our first Meet the Maker of 2021 is Grainne Moran, who as a result of Covid, has set up at home and has been piloting our new online mentoring programme. Having previously worked as an Event Stylist in Australia, Grainne returned to Edinburgh with new priorities and a goal to achieve more hands on creative projects.

"It was only by immersing myself in creativity that I realised my aspiration to design jewellery and that to make it was a possibility. I chose SilverHub due to its flexibility in classes and the small class numbers really appealed to me. I quickly realised I had come to the perfect place for me.
After several class sessions, I began working with Lisa on a one-to-one basis. We sat and chatted about my overall objective and picked topics and techniques which were orientated to my style. It was around this time that creating my own brand started to become a reality.
Once again we are in Lockdown and I have been amazed what can be accomplished from inside an Edinburgh flat! I have created a collection of jewellery, designed, ordered packaging and marketing materials, as well as purchasing website domains trademarks. Self employment is in sight!!
I am having regular Zoom sessions with Lisa in order to ask questions, gain feedback and get overall knowledge in the next steps. SilverHub has been a place of nurture and support for me and given me the confidence to realise my design style and individuality.”
