Our Meet the Makers series aims to share the work and stories of our incredible students and jewellers in residence with you. To start us off, we would like to introduce Rosanna MacNaughton!
Rosanna in her temporary home studio.
Rosanna is a student on our one-year foundation course. Having always been a creative, she studied Textile Design at degree level before trying her hand at Jewellery Making and Silversmithing. She has worked incredibly hard and this September, she will be undertaking her masters in Jewellery and Metalwork. Amazing!
"Through the one-year course I have learnt a number of new techniques and developed my technical skills. The course has given me the opportunity to explore my style and way of working both in jewellery and artistically. Lisa and Jess have provided unlimited support and guidance in helping me put together a portfolio and apply for a Masters degree this September in Jewellery and Metalwork."
Rosanna's most recent work has been inspired by the lines and shapes found on old maps of Calton Hill in Edinburgh. She has developed and translated mark-making techniques from her observational drawings of the area into beautiful pieces of jewellery and metalwork.
