This week we were excited to hear all about the work and classes of our studio neighbour, Lorna Brown.
Lorna runs Blessed Unrest, a design studio predominately creating hand printed fabrics for interiors, gift wear accessories and exhibition. She sells her work through galleries, design fairs, licensing and her online store.

"My designs have versatility and translate to many light and heavier weight fabrics as well as wood, paper and ceramics. I design for popular product ranges including cushions, light shades, hanging lengths of fabric and wall paper as well as fabrics by the metre. My textiles are printed using water based inks, British sourced materials, using micro manufacturing processes and everything is hand assembled at my design studio at Abbeymount."
Lorna also runs a programme of Screen Printing workshops from the large print studio at Abbeymount. The workshops vary from weekend intensives, evening tasters to a week of Summer School sessions.
"All my classes are aimed at beginners or individuals who would like to expand their current print skills. Having years of experience as a creative facilitator and understanding different learning styles, I provide individualised support and tuition throughout all my workshops. These are small group classes of no more than 6 people so that I can share a more personalised approach to teaching. I also work with individuals on their own print development, induction to printing equipment, the print space and how to set up your own screen printing facility."
