SilverHub Jewellery School and Studios
SilverHub Jewellery School and Studios is one of Scotland’s independent providers of craft education for adults undertaking jewellery and metalwork courses. Established over 10 years ago in Edinburgh, SilverHub has a strong reputation for teaching high quality jewellery classes while fostering creativity in the context of contemporary jewellery design to individuals and groups of all abilities.
Students at SilverHub attend evening and daytime classes for a variety of reasons whether this is for relaxation to support their health and wellbeing, their leisure interest or starting their journey to becoming a professional jeweller. Whatever the reason for attending SilverHub classes we pride ourselves on supporting and facilitating their learning and creativity in an inclusive manner.
Alongside our evening classes we run daytime classes and weekend courses. Within our programme SilverHub runs a one-day foundation course in jewellery design and making which supports and enables adults to embark on Further and Higher Education jewellery and metalwork courses. Previous students on this course have successfully gained Degree and Master places at Birmingham School of Jewellery, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow Kelvin College and Sheffield Hallam University.
Alongside our in-house classes SilverHub delivers workshops to the wider community, charities, and educational organisations. Previously we have delivered workshops to Edinburgh Young Carers, Women's Aid, Vocal, Castlebrae and Craigroyston Community High Schools.
The Flourish Jewellery Project founded by artists and Jewellers Lisa Arnott and Jessica Howarth is funded by Creative Scotland. SilverHub Studios is a partner alongside Four Square’s Womanzone and North Edinburgh Arts. Currently based within SilverHub, the Flourish Project was established to enable women recovering from trauma to experience and learn jewellery making and is currently being developed into a social enterprise.
